WEEK 3 BLOG - ACTION RESEARCH PLAN

Looks very detailed and you will be able to easily collect quantitative data, but I have an additional way to collect qualitative data outside teachers surveys. Throughout the year survey or interview students and get their spin on whether students are benefiting educationally or is it more of a social distraction. I am going to access students in a similar way.
ReplyDeleteYour plan seems detailed and interesting. I don't know if I am a fan of bring your own technology. I work at a middle school. I'm sure it would work better at a high school. Do you plan on having any surveys filled out by students? I also noticed that you don't have anything listed in the Goal's section so I'm not sure what it is.
ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to see your results. I'm sure your school is like mine in that the culture of BYOT has become simply that: bring your own technology but don't use it much for education. I'm sure your research will provide your school with some hard truths but also some good direction moving forward.
ReplyDeleteGreat detail as others have said. Your different interviews will be interesting to compare. I bet you get a much different answer from the teachers and administrators on this and that difference will be very informative. Having seen some of the issues this type of policy can create myself, I look forward to your findings.
ReplyDeleteI really look forward to your findings on this topic. We have struggled with technology in our school whether it be teachers trying new things or students using it incorrectly. I am most interested to see what the students say in there surveys about their use of technology at school.
ReplyDeleteI like the BYOT inquiry I wish my school would implement it. The details you have are very good. Also, I like how you are going to research other school districts. I'm very speculative to see who benefits more from it teachers or students.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear and see your outcome for your action research project! I can see that you have your action research plan well displayed and clear for understanding. My school does not want to introduce BYOT yet, so seen yours come aboard should be an eye and mind opener.
